Cats MTB is a Moutain Biking Club based in the Market Harborough and Northampton Area. We are a group of riders who enjoy getting out into the hills and riding for the hell of it. We have riders of all abilities, from first-timers to full-on racers, riding on all manner of bikes. CATS Mountain Bike Club was set up in 1998 by a small group of riders who had belonged to a cycling club, that was mainly road orientated, and decided to go it alone.

Within a couple of years the club was over 50 strong.

The club is affiliated to 3 main bodies of cycling in Great Britain, the British Cycling Federation, The Road Time Trials Council and the Midland Trail Quests.

The club organises a variety of events during the year, which include cross country races, a downhill race and a trailquest orienteering event.

The club has a membership fee, which is discounted when renewed the following year.

The club issues you with a membership card, and many local shops in the area do offer a discount to club members on production of the card.

The ethos of CATS is to go out and have fun. We don't have huge mountains but we do have miles of rideable trails and bridleways snaking through the Leicstershire and Northamptonshire countryside. Nearly all of our riding is done as a group and no rider is too slow or too fast to join the rides.

We have a very active race scene with many of the riders competing in the local mountain bike, trailquest and cyclo-cross events. Riders from CATS have raced further afield in national events such as the Malverns and Cheddar Classic races. During the Summer months, the Inter-Club series keeps many of the club busy with both organising and riding in the races.

If you fancy a bit of playbiking, there's steep twisty singletrack to be found (if you know where to find it) and a motorcross track to practice your dirt jumping.

So come on, GET IN TOUCH. We want to see more active Mountain Bikers in the area, so click below!!
